CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE
Braintree District Council are undertaking a public consultation so that local residents and other key stakeholders can have their say and help shape the future of the service. The consultation commences on Monday, 6 January and will run for an 8-week period ending at midnight on 2 March 2025. Please see the link below to access the consultation and put forward your views.

Flooding is possible for: The River Colne from Great Yeldham to Colchester, including Castle Hedingham, Sible Hedingham, Halstead, Earls Colne, Wakes Colne, Chappel and Ford Street.
Be prepared.
This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely to continue during today, Sunday 5th January. River levels are rising from the recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas around Great Yeldham, Castle Hedingham, Sible Hedingham, Halstead, White Colne, Chappel, Fordstreet, and the Toppesfield Brook, and in Colchester between the A12 and East Street. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time. The forecast is for continued unsettled weather today and tomorrow. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don’t put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation. We will update this message tomorrow morning, Monday 6th January, or as the situation changes.
